SIOR elects Michael Connor as regional director for Mid Atlantic

WASHINGTON, DC — The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) recently elected Michael Connor, SIOR, vice president of Hanna Langholz Wilson Ellis in Pittsburgh, to serve a two-year term on the SIOR regional director in the Mid-Atlantic Region. He will assume the position at SIOR’s Fall 2023 conference in Chicago this October. Connor will serve as the liaison between the SIOR Board of Directors and SIOR Chapters in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. Baltimore, Delaware and Northern Virginia

Connor’s involvement with SIOR marks a continuation of his family’s ties to the organization which now extends over four generations. Connor’s great-grandfather, Charles R. Wilson, became a member of the Society of Industrial Realtors in 1962 (“Office” practitioners were welcomed in 1986 resulting in the enhancement of the designation from SIR to SIOR) and was the Western Pennsylvania Chapter VP in 1971. His family’s involvement in SIOR was championed further by Connor’s uncle, Gary Wilson, who became a member of the organization in 1993, was president of the Western Pennsylvania chapter in 1996 and 2004 and has had a decorated career as a broker and developer.

Believed to be one of the youngest in the organization’s history to hold the regional director position, Connor (30) views this election as an honor and an enhancement to his family’s legacy.

“The SIOR designation represents the epitome of excellence in the world of office and industrial real estate and securing it has been a goal of mine since I began working in CRE brokerage in 2015. I’ve had incredible mentorship and guidance throughout my brief career, and I felt incredibly honored to have achieved that goal just a few months ago. This election has amplified my excitement about SIOR as an organization and I feel incredibly fortunate to have been selected for this opportunity. I look forward to getting to work and being a champion for the region, and the organization.”

Connor, an Office Specialist as classified by SIOR, has ample local experience representing occupiers in need of professional office, laboratory, R&D and otherwise “flex” space, as well as representing property owners looking to fill their assets with companies fitting the aforementioned occupant profile. He joined SIOR as a Member Associate in 2020 and just recently earned the SIOR designation in December of 2022.

Connor is an award-winning practitioner within the SIOR Western Pennsylvania chapter as a recipient of awards such as Emerging Broker of the Year (2019), Office Sale of the Year (2022) and Investment Sale of the Year (2022). Connor is a product of Fox Chapel Area High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated with Magna Cum Laude standing from Clarion University of Pennsylvania with degrees in Marketing and Finance.

The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) is the leading society for industrial and office real estate professionals. Individuals who earn their SIOR designation adhere to the highest levels of accountability and ethical standards. Only the industry's top professionals qualify for the SIOR designation. Today, there are more than 3,700 SIOR members in 722 cities and 45 countries.
