Rockefeller Group adds Brandi Hanback

Annapolis, MD — Rockefeller Group announced that Brandi Hanback has been appointed executive VP, head of development, assuming sole leadership responsibility for the company’s US real estate development platform. Based in Annapolis, she was previously co-head of development, a position she assumed in early 2024.

Rockefeller Group’s Development business spans seven US regional offices, with approximately $6 billion in active projects totaling more than 17 million s/f. Hanback is responsible for the business line’s strategy, execution, and continued growth. She has held leadership positions within the company’s development business since 2013, during a period of rapid expansion for the company.

Having joined the company in 2003, Hanback has held leadership positions in Development and Foreign Trade Zone Services. From 2013 to 2019 she led the company’s industrial development platform. Under her leadership, the industrial business line completed more than eight million s/f of new development, helping to establish Rockefeller Group as one of the nation’s leading industrial development firms. In her first decade with the company, she led Rockefeller Group Foreign Trade Zone Services, an advisory firm for tenants and independent clients in the areas of foreign trade zone designations, trade and supply chain matters.

Hanback holds a Juris Doctorate from the Catholic University of America, and is admitted to the bars of Maryland, District of Columbia and the US Supreme Court. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Virginia Tech and George Mason University in political science and international transactions, respectively.

Hanback is a former chairman of the board of directors of the National Association of Foreign-Trade Zones and was made an Honorary Life Member of the NAFTZ in 2019. She is an active member of Commercial Real Estate Women and is a regular speaker on the US real estate market, trade and logistics.
