Ouellette rejoins Standard Cos. as chief strategy officer

New York, NY — Standard Companies (Standard) has announced that Joe Ouellette has returned to the company as chief strategy officer, a new position in which he is responsible for spearheading Standard’s growth and accelerating performance.

Ouellette served as Standard’s first regional partner from 2015 through 2019, a period in which the company’s portfolio more than doubled. He has nearly two decades of executive experience in the affordable and workforce housing industry, including capital markets, asset management, acquisitions, and ownership. Most recently, as the president and founder of Greenhouse Advisory, he provided executive coaching to C-level executives and senior leaders across a range of industries and organizations.

“Joe Ouellette had an essential role in our company’s early growth and culture. In returning to Standard, Joe’s impressive experience and skills will be invaluable as we launch Standard’s “50 x 30” initiative, our ambitious long-term goal to grow the company’s national portfolio to 50,000 units under ownership by 2030,” said Jeff Jaeger, co-founder and principal of standard.

“I’m excited to be back at Standard in this new capacity, working with such a talented and thoughtful group of people. We have ambitious goals for the future, from our “50 x 30” initiative, to the growth of our Standard+ Foundation, to the Standard Academy, a best-in-class training and development platform. These goals are a direct reflection of the caliber of our team and the culture we will continue to buildout at Standard: A culture of challenge and support, of collaboration and innovation, in an organization where people can thrive professionally and personally,” said Ouellette.

“Having a trusted, people-first leader like Joe as our chief strategy officer is essential to our mission to make Standard the premier affordable and workforce housing organization. Joe brings a truly unique set of skills, perspectives, and existing relationships that align seamlessly to our existing leadership team and with our vision for the future,” said Scott Alter, principal and co-founder of Standard.
