Size: 400,000 SF Walker House involved the transformation of the historic New Jersey Bell office building into a mixed-use, mixed-income development. The restoration by L+M Development Partners, Prudential Financial, Inc., and Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group, financed in part by the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency, provides 264 apartments, including 53 which are affordable. The adaptive reuse of the building also includes office and retail space. The 21-story Art Deco building, built in 1929 by the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company, is known for its majestic lobby and brick/sandstone exterior which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
