Tell us how and when you began your career in the profession you are in: My background is film and television and I started running a cable station for a large developer- in that position I wrote produced and filmed many video training programs for the 400 employees of the company- including cutting grass, irrigation, building maintenance, general association management operations and office administration. In fact, the company sent me to obtain my PCAM- Professional Community Association Manager -designation What is your current position? CEO and owner of Regency Management Group, Inc. Why did you choose the field/profession you are in today? Because I knew how to do everyone’s job and knew the best practices for the management and maintenance of a community it was a natural progression for me to start my own community management business. As an innovator, I developed many protocols that are standard in the industry and have always maintained my firm on the cutting edge of best practices. How do you manage the work/life balance? My team are like family and colleagues and since I focus on helping everyone grow in the direction that is their best career, I always focus on life work balance. Personally, I have always scheduled personal time in my work calendar for self-preservation. Whether it was class mother responsibilities when my kids were little, to modifying my work schedule when my first and each subsequent grand child was born, so that I could spend two days a week taking care of them and being in their life. I also schedule spa days and vacations, special events etc. as part of things that are important to me and my performance a s a business owner.
