NEWARK, NJ — Brinkerhoff Environmental Services, Inc. (Brinkerhoff) was instrumental in securing a 2019 Brownfield grant in the amount of $800K for the City of Newark. The grant was awarded by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) following a nationwide selection process. “We are very pleased to assist the City of Newark with their many Brownfield issues. Our Newark-based staff is committed to addressing the environmental needs of the surrounding communities,” said CEO Laura Brinkerhoff. This highly competitive USEPA grant program provides funding for testing and remediation of contaminated and underutilized properties. The grant award to Newark affirms the need to remediate properties which were formerly deemed unusable, transform communities, create jobs and promote economic redevelopment.
