More than 80 LSRPs, associate members, and sponsors, dwarfed by massive sculptures in stone and iron, feted the 10th anniversary of the LSRP profession on May 15th at the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton. Once the New Jersey Fairgrounds, the Grounds for Sculpture reclaimed the unused land in the 1980s, much as LSRPs have reclaimed contaminated sites for redevelopment for a decade. Caryn Barnes of Langan, the current LSRPA president, raised a toast to the LSRPs, including the eight people who have served as LSRPA president, to acknowledge a job well done and a strong future for site remediation in New Jersey. Since the creation of LSRPs, more than 14,000 cases, including many former industrial sites, have completed the requirements for remediation. It has led to redevelopment in urban areas and counties throughout NJ.
