The WELL Building Standard is a performance-based system measuring, certifying, and monitoring features of the built environment that impact human health and wellbeing. The intent of the WELL Building Standard is to bring together the best practices in design and construction with health and wellness. The standard focuses on six key elements shown to positively impact occupant health and productivity: air quality, water quality, nourishment, light, fitness, and comfort. Burns Scalo made the choice to pursue WELL certification for The Riviera at 300 Technology Dr., inside the Pittsburgh Technology Center (PTC) in Oakland, to support the health and wellness initiatives of prospective tenants.
