Greencastle, PA — Winners of the 2016 National Auctioneers Association Marketing Competition, presented in partnership with USA TODAY, were announced at the 67th International Auctioneers Conference and Show held in Grand Rapids, MI. The annual NAA Marketing Competition, is presented in partnership with USA TODAY, and is the premier contest for NAA members to showcase their marketing efforts. This year’s contest highlighted coast-to-coast, top-level marketing efforts as winners from 20 states emerged out of more than 880 entries submitted from throughout the US.
The competition featured 56 sub-categories in seven categories across three divisions. Categories included but weren’t limited to: Postcards, Brochures & Catalogs; Newspaper/Magazine Print Advertising; Public Relations & Marketing; and Digital & Social Media. Local auctioneer, Matthew Hurley with Hurley Auctions in Greencastle, PA, received awards in both the Real Estate and Auctioneer in Action divisions. The task of determining winners was given to a panel of marketing and advertising professionals, all of which have backgrounds in branding, promotion, media, public relations and graphic design. Judging criteria included considerations such as creativity, message, ad effectiveness, clarity and visual appeal. Hurley Auctions specializes in auctions of commercial, farm, residential, hunting preserves, and development real estate as well as business and estate liquidations of manufacturing and industrial companies, aircraft, medical equipment, farm machinery, antiques, and collectables.
