24 Jones complex opens in the University Heights Neighborhood of Newark, NJ

Newark, NJ — Tucker Development, a leader in the development of retail centers and mixed-use properties, has delivered occupancy of 24 Jones, an apartment complex located adjacent to the new Springfield Avenue Marketplace in the University Heights neighborhood of Newark. Comprised of 152 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments, 24 Jones is located at 24 Jones St., only steps away from the Springfield Avenue Marketplace retail center, anchored by a world-class full service ShopRite supermarket.

“With Springfield Avenue Marketplace, we saw an opportunity to create something truly special in the heart of one of Newark’s most active and vibrant neighborhoods. Now, we’re seeing it come to fruition, with the opening of 24 Jones along with the huge popularity of its adjacent shopping center,” said Richard Tucker, CEO of Tucker Development. “From graduate students to professionals, this community provides its residents seamless access to the multitude of job centers and educational institutions in the area, all within a top-quality living environment that’s unrivaled in the immediate area.” The spacious apartments at 24 Jones include stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors, and in-unit washers and dryers. The building also includes a modern fitness center, secured parking-lot, 24-hour doorman, and Wi-Fi throughout its common areas. But, according to Tucker Development, its greatest amenity may be its location. “We’re finding that, for many prospective residents, the ability to visit a brand new, state-of-the-art ShopRite only steps from their home is proving to be extraordinarily valuable,” added Tucker. With more than 375,000 residents within three miles of the site -- along with several universities in the immediate vicinity -- Springfield Avenue Marketplace provides seamless access to the area’s many surrounding destinations.
