Berger’s Robert Treat Center is more than 90 percent leased

NEWARK, NJ — Three new leases and a tenant expansion at The Berger Organization’s Robert Treat Center reflect steady demand in the Newark office market, according to Brendan Berger, vice president. The 100,000 s/f office property, located in the heart of the city’s central business district at 50 Park Place, is more than 90% leased.

GroundForce Logistics leased 3,050 s/f at Robert Treat Center. Additionally, youth empowerment group After School All Stars leased 1,350 s/f while start-up litigation support company Litegation, LLC leased 450 s/f. An existing tenant, Worldwide Express, expanded from 2,000 to 3,000 s/f at the property; the shipping management company has maintained an operation there since 2011.

“This group reflects the diversity among tenants establishing and growing in Newark,” Berger said. “Our city is attracting a wide range of users – from startup companies drawn by our competitive rental rates and high-tech infrastructure, to community-building groups serving urban population centers, to logistics organizations leveraging proximity to the port and the region’s excellent transportation infrastructure.”

Its tenants also include the Associated Press, the City of Newark, the State of New Jersey, Teach for America, Neurotrope and Jacoby & Meyers. Employees of these organizations enjoy the hotel’s amenities, a central location within Newark’s cultural, dining and entertainment hub, and proximity to the city’s transportation network including Newark Penn Station, PATH light rail, and the Broad Street Station.
