HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ — DMR Architects has been named the architect to redesign a 12,000 s/f warehouse space into a daycare center on the Greater Bergen Community Action’s Garfield campus.
The renovated facility will include classrooms and indoor and outdoor play areas, as well as offices, lounges and storage for the GBCA.
This project will expand the GBCA’s early childhood education offerings, which already serves more than 1,200 children throughout Bergen County each year.
This will be the third warehouse building at the Garfield location that DMR has redesigned for GBCA in the past six years. Previously, DMR remodeled an 11,000 square foot warehouse and office space for the GBCA’s Head Start program and a 10,000 square foot building for its Weatherization Education and Training Center.
“DMR Architects is thrilled to continue our work with Greater Bergen Community Action to address the needs of Garfield’s residents,” said Lloyd Rosenberg, AIA, President and CEO for DMR Architects. “It is very rewarding to us to take underutilized buildings and recreate them into vibrant and useful spaces for residents of all ages in Garfield and the surrounding area.”
