DMR Architects acts as Ernest Bock & Sons’ design consultant


BRIDGETON, NJ —DMR Architects’ senior vice president, Obi Agudosi, AIA attended the beam signing ceremonies in Bridgeton at the Buckshutem Road School the Quarter Mile Lane School.

The beams will ultimately be placed in the vestibule of the Buckshutem Road School and the stair tower of Quarter Mile Lane School.

Working as the design consultant for Ernest Bock & Sons, DMR designed additions and renovations to both schools as part of a contract with the New Jersey Schools Development Authority to accommodate for significant K-8th grade enrollment increases over the past two years.

At Quarter Mile Lane Elementary School (pictured above), DMR designed 91,000 s/f of new construction and 33,000 s/f of renovations to increase the school’s capacity by nearly 500 students. When completed, it will offer students a new three-story classroom wing gymnasium, a multi-purpose room and a cafeteria.

The Buckshutem Road Elementary School (pictured below) project included 33,000 s/f of new construction and 7,000 s/f of renovations.

Both facilities will seek LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Construction completion is expected before the start of the 2017 – 2018 school year.
